Bedside Board beta

Bedside Board is a daily helper for stroke survivors. It has a talking phrase board, a big Yes / No screen, medicines, reminders, refills, notes and voice memos. It can also connect with family and doctors.

This is an early beta test build for Android phones. It is not a medical device and it is not medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

How to install on Android

  1. Open this page on your Android phone and tap the download button.
  2. When the download finishes, tap the file bedside-board-beta.apk (or open it from your Downloads).
  3. If Android says the app is from an unknown source, tap Settings and turn on Allow from this source for your browser or files app, then go back.
  4. Tap Install. When it is done, tap Open.
  5. When Bedside Board asks for notifications, microphone or camera, allow the ones you want to use. The talking board works without them.

Updates are not automatic during the beta. To update, download the newest file from this page and install it over the old one.

Privacy

Your phrase board, medicines, notes, reminders and voice memos are kept on your phone. Bedside Board does not sell your information and does not show ads.

Family and doctor connection is available. It is off until you set it up in the app and give someone your share code and PIN.

When you connect a board, the things you choose to share (such as medicines, appointments, notes and missed doses) and the messages and voice clips your helpers send are stored on our server so connected phones can see them. They travel over an encrypted HTTPS connection. You can pause or remove a helper, change what you share, or delete the shared board from the app, which erases it from our server.

Messages from helpers show up when the app checks its inbox. They are not instant alerts, so do not use Bedside Board for anything urgent.

This download page does not use cookies or trackers. The web server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address and time) for security.
